Since 1970, researchers have been studying erosion along Lake Superior's shore. Analyses of bluff material, shoreline recession rates, and additional information was compiled and published by the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program. In 2001 and 2002, a follow-up study was completed to evaluate the changes that had occured within the study area since 1970. The purpose of this report is to determine a science-based safe coastal setback line for Douglas and Iron counties in Wisconsin.
