The Nature Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organization working to restore and protect natural landscapes across the globe. Since its establishment in 1951 the Conservancy has been a leader in the advancement of conservation science. The Conservancy is dedicated to multiple initiatives including: habitat restoration, climate change, land conservation, sustainable agriculture, and smart development, as well as the protection of unique natural resources like coral reefs, the rainforests, and migratory birds. Strong partnership with NGOs, muniticipalities, agencies, and business have helped the Conservancy to achieve its mission and make progress on its initiatives.
In the Great Lakes Region the Nature Conservancy has mutliple offices in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York, each working on their own programs pursuant of the organization's mission.
