|Title||Rapid Assessment of the Economic Value of Wisconsin's Wetlands|
|Year of Publication||2012|
|Institution||Wisconsin Wetlands Association|
In an effort to determine and communicate the economic value of Wisconsin's wetlands to local decision makers, the Wisconsin Wetland Association commission a study by Earth Economics. This rapid assessment provides vital baseline information on the value of the more 5.3 acres of wetland habitat in Wisconsin. The dollar values derrived from this analysis are very conservative and reflect only 7 of the 22 ecosystem services documented in this study. This report answers critical questions like whether or not wetlands can be considered an economic asset and how wetlands impact the local economy.
