Abstract

This manual was designed to help landowners, developers, insurers, lenders, and prospective buyers evaluate the condition and risk associated with particular sites in the Great Lakes Region. The inforamtion within can help these stakeholder make better property value appraisals, hazard disclosures, and planning and zoning ordinanaces. This manual describes some of the natural processes that work along the Great Lakes shoreline that could adversely affect coasta property investments. Guideance on evaluating the effects of changing lakes levels, storm surge, wave run-up, lakebed erosion, and shoreline recesion are documented within.
